Week Ending: August 2, 2013
“This Week in CyanogenMod” is an ongoing feature that aims to serve as a one-stop shop for weekly updates. Topics discussed are culled from our social media accounts, gerrit, status updates and general thoughts.
Lot’s of stuff to cover, so let’s just jump right in.
Help from Negri Electronics
Ryan from Negri Electronics stepped in to help us out with some of our endeavors. He was kind enough to get us a i9505 and Xperia Z to tinker with, in addition to some spare batteries. Always nice when a distributor can lend a hand to the community!
I9500 Bringup
We had a bit of a breakthrough with the Exynos 5 based Galaxy S4, with intervigil working hard on bringing that device some 10.2 goodness. Lot’s of progress this week, but still plenty of kinks to work out. Source is available for those who wish to build what we have thus far, or even help out if possible.
Global Blacklist
New to the 10.2 code, we’ve overhauled our blacklist functionality, gave the UI a holo makeover and added in support for SMS blacklisting as well.
Focal
Also added to the 10.2 code was our new camera app Focal. It’s available in all its GPLv2 glory in our Github. Still plenty of items to improve, but overall we are very happy with how its been received.
Android 4.3
We continue to churn through our device roster to bring them up to speed with CM 10.2/Android 4.3. We are nearing the point where we feel nightlies are suitable, but not yet. Give us some time to get things in order, 10.2 goodies aren’t too far away. Thanks for your patience.

AndysThreads Pre-Order
As a reminder, the pre-orders the CM attire on AndysThreads are still open. We managed to crush their site yesterday (oops) but things should have settled down by now. As we stated before, we’ll be donating our percentage of the sales to the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Unfamiliar with what they do? Check them out!
